Hungry Farmer Steakhouse in San Antonio

The food was ok. The service was good. I might try this place again and order something other than what I did.

First an last time I will eveerrr eat here, the service was beyond terrible. I wouldn't even eat here again if they gave me a free steak! The waitress brought us a salad then we sat..ate the salad and continued to wait for 15 mins for a whole new waitress to come an ask us what we wanted to drink. The cups make the drinks taste like dirty dish rags, obviously wasn't cleaned right. So instead of staying an finishing our food. We took it to go.. No sense in paying almost $100 for us to leave the food we paid for. WORST PLACE TO GET CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Excellent experience from the moment I walked! Great hospitality and my god was the Tbone ever so juicy and full of flavor, been coming here for decades and still feels like nothing has ever changed. Keep up the great work

Saw there menu on the maps and called to verify they serve alcohol. I will not step 1 foot in thus place. Definitely not a family friendly place nor Godly

Very nice atmosphere and the food is delicious as well. My steak was cooked perfectly with extremely nice customer service. I highly recommend it.

First time visit, have to say that this is a place you have to visit, if you Love steaks. Family and I enjoyed our meals. We will return in the future. Besides having to ask the waiter for refills and other items the visit was great. Thank You HFS

Waitress was rude had an attitude kept forgetting things we asking for, we had to get up and ask for refills, sauces, silverware, napkins she forgot. Steaks were cooked ok, rolls were flat like someone sat on them and burnt on top and raw inside. The food was good aside from the horrible waitress and she even added a tip of almost 30 for a tip on the bill. I Even had to explain at the register because they told me I had to tell her she gave us bad service so I did not pay her 30$ tip, I left a tip but not 30$. All 5 people who had the steak plates all had stomach cramps and nausea 20 min after eating and woke up feeling sick. The other 3 people who didn't eat the steak plates felt fine.

I only had the baked potato my friend had a steak. Food was good. Service was ok. We went about 8:30 and it seemed like they were trying to rush us out of there.

Steak was cooked perfectly and left juicy. Baked potato was good. Sausage could've been better. Waitress was very attentive.

He went to uncle Barneys the burgers are great. My grand daughter had the chicken tenders and she loved them. Great food & great service

I've been there many times I've gone there since I was a little kid the place is always the best hamburgers in town I can't get out of the car at the moment so the lady he is even nice enough to take my order over the phone and him carried out to me and my car when I make because I couldn't go and so I can't beat it Hometown small business Ops but the owners usually they're good place to go

Food is average. We ordered a burger and several chicken strip plates. The burger was not really much different than a Sonic or DQ burger. The chicken strips were skinny and small...for $12 a plate. We received small, ketchup-sized servings of gravy. When I asked for more, the lady at the counter didn't want to but a guy (not sure if he was a mgr or not) told her it would be ok. She didn't seem to like that. Would have enjoyed a chicken strip meal more from a number of other competitors and with better portions.

I now know why they call it the Hungry Farmer. You order a steak it takes longer then it should and when it comes out its cold.Now at Popeyes ordering chicken.

Service was great and very welcoming. The food was perfect. Hamburger steak with grilled onions did not need to add anything else. Skipped dessert since we full but stayed a little extra just to enjoy the music. Old school country like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Charlie Rich are never a bad combination with this food. We will definitely be returning.

Was not impressed with their steaks, could have been that day or the cow. Only thing I liked was the cooking temperature. Was cooked perfectly. Other than that I would save my money or order something else from the menu. Waitress must have been new, because she was not very good. My wife ordered a drink and took her about 10 minutes to bring it. We told her bring the drink when you bring the food out.

This "steak" house was close by where my husband and I were at today. We were in the mood for steak and decided to try it out. Save your money. When you sit down, you are given a side salad that comes with the meal and if you want it w/o a meal it's $3.50. This restaurant does not offer appetizers or ribeyes so I got the sirloin instead and my husband tried the t-bone. Our waitress was nice and kept checking on us but the steaks...... They came out quickly and when you se picture, you can see why. There is a .50 charge for sour cream and cheese each for the potatoes. This looks like a neighborhood restaurant and we would not go out of our way to visit again.

The food is delicious, the service is so good, always see smiling faces.

The server was great and the cashier was so sweet ❤️❤️, I know it doesn't matter much but the hospitality made the experience all the better. The cook sorta messed up on the steak but fixed it promptly. Good place to eat and enjoy family time!

Our waitress was terrible. Older white lady, hard of hearing, dyed black hair, black framed glasses. She never checked on us...only came by because my boyfriend asked for a soda refill and never got it. She refilled, I mean, overfilled my cup of water and I wound up cleaning it up myself. Waited over an hour for one steak, onion rings and a baked potato. And also, other customers sitting after us were getting served before us. As soon as we spoke up, our food was magically ready in under 5 minutes?! Onion rings fell off the plate as she walked to our table "oops, sorry." The steak was burnt and hard…and she forgot the baked potato. Ha. We didn't eat it any of it, so we left. Good managers would've apologized and made things right, but nope!

Very fun eclectic decor, you can really find some old signs on the walls that are pretty funny. I really liked the salad dressing choices and how they give you salad right away. I went with the garlic one because it was a weird color green. The hamburger steak was unique because they shaped it like Texas! The fish was not the best...But understandably since this place is mostly about meat.

Food so hot and delicious and please know I'm a very particular person so for me to say something is delicious is huge y'all. Come check it out for yourself this place does not disappoint!
